    Description

    Reproduction
    of a German wooden doll of the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
    This doll is made by me - she is cut out of alder by hand only. Covered with handmade gesso , painted with oil paints. Finished with bee wax.
    Height 42 cm or 16-17"
    She is now fully dressed in a high-waisted Empire-style silk gown and Italian straw bonnet. Underwear - corset, pannier and underskirt. The pannier was not worn during this period, but I had to use it so that the doll's legs could rotate without interference. All clothes are hand-sewn exclusively from antique fabrics and laces.
