Up for auction are Three, Original Bomp Newsletters from 1977, Numbers 20, 21 & 22.  Early issues by Bomp Records, which started in 1974, remains one of the oldest indie record labels in existence.  Two-sided legal-sized yellow sheets with news from the music world.  This lot includes:
- Number 20, June 27, 1977.  Includes news Kim Fowley “Presents a New Wave Weekend at the Whisky” along with the Weirdos, Dils and others; Joseph “The Count” Viglione, and more!
- Number 21, July 15, 1977.  Includes news on the Ramones’s “Sheena is a Punk Rocker” moving up the charts; Mabuhay Gardens having a Bomp Festival featuring the Weirdos and the Zeros; the Slash magazine benefit (where between the sets the audience was treated to the amazing underground film by DEVO, the band from Akron that we think will be one of the next major new-wave signings); rumors of the Sex Pistols leaving England; Malcolm McLaren in Hollywood; the on-stage attacks of The Strangers and the Boomtown Rats; Seattle’s Chatterbox magazine show featuring Chinas Comidas and others; the Ramones opening for Captain and Tennille at a benefit; Miriam Linna leaving The Cramps, plus more!
- Number 22, July 21, 1977.  Includes news on new records from the Vibrators, Chelsea and others; Chiswick and Arista deal; Bomp and Ork Records upcoming releases; Ray Campi’s Rockabilly Rebels; Fred “Sonic” Smith’s Rendevous Band; Bomp Weekend at Babuhay Gardens in San Francisco, plus more!
All are in very good condition with center mailing fold and some wear; name and phone number in pen on one issue.
