These people voted for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Donald Trump. Here’s why.

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a liberal icon who has little in common with former President Donald Trump when it comes to politics.
But they do share some things: Voters.
Ocasio-Cortez sailed to victory last week without trouble. But voters in her district swung toward Trump by a larger margin than 2020’s election with President Joe Biden.
The federal lawmaker took to social media for answers.
“Let’s do this right now. If you voted for Donald Trump and me, or if you voted for Donald Trump and voted Democratic down-ballot, I would really love to hear from you,” Ocasio-Cortez said during a Q&A on her Instagram story.
“This is not a place of judgment. I’m not gonna, like, put your stuff on blast or anything like that, or dunk on it. That’s like, genuinely not the intent here. I actually want to learn from you. I want to hear what you were thinking.”
Here’s how some people replied:
“It’s real simple… trump and you care for the working class.”
“But wanted change so I went with trump and blue of the rest of the ballot to put some breaks.”
“Voted Trump, but I like you & Bernie. I don’t trust either party establishment politicians.”
“Action & Progress>> Stagnation & Excuses. Both of you push boundaries and force growth.”
“Trump is going to get us the money and lets men have a voice. You’re brilliant and have amazing passion!”
“I feel like Trump and you are both real.”
Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign manager, Oliver Hidalgo-Wohlleben, shared more responses on X.
